IT Volunteer



 

About the role

 

We ask for two half days or one full day per week, Monday-Friday. 

The role:

IT Volunteers provide support for teams throughout the organisation. You will work closely with our IT Administrator to setup and maintain vital services and devices including PCs, phones and tablets.
 
Main duties include:
  • Troubleshooting IT problems for staff and volunteers.
  • Carrying out hardware and software maintenance and repairs.
  • Liaising with Internet Service Provider.
  • Testing new and donated equipment.
  • Setting up new team members with phones and tablets.
  • Working with PCs and Android devices.
  • Monitoring staff records.
  • Keeping up-to-date records of organisational IT equipment.
  • Producing ID badges.
  • Maintaining confidential records.
The role is based at our main office - Kingsley Hall, 59 Old Market Street, Bristol, BS2 0ER – but will include occasional travel to other 1625ip sites with the line manager, our IT Administrator.
 
Our IT support team works 9am-5pm Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and we are looking for volunteers who can commit a full day or two half days each week.

Key skills:

  • Knowledge/experience of working with PCs, phones and tablets.
  • Comfortable using the internet.
  • Patient and enjoys problem solving.
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office would be a benefit.
  • Good general admin skills.
  • Open and non-judgemental.
  • Able to maintain confidentiality.
  • Willing and able to attend training.
